Not sure why such a large change. There’s a shit ton of energy associated and just a slight change from any of the 3-4 pieces flying around will give various solutions. I hope the same thing happens when there’s cooler air around. The hourly meltdowns would be epic 1

PackGrad05
By "well inland", do you mean west of 95? The latest Euro and GFS still show a good dose of rain for central NC (2-3 inches) and gusty winds.

GaWx
Other than week 2 having 2-3 F AN temps in NW portions, the Euro Weeklies have NN to BN temps in the SE through Jan 29th. And this is with most members having no major SSW. Imagine what could happen in mid and especially late Jan if there is one. 3

Tacoma
Right, we get a classic Miller A , a strong low out of the Gulf and there isn't any cold up north to drag down into the storm, maybe if this was a couple of weeks from now we would be in business. PackGrad05
Central NC would be rain. The track is too far inland. Western NC would be sitting pretty. Latest HRRR shows 2-3" widespread for central NC. Also shows the deformation band pivoting through Monday morning. Winds have died down which is a good thing.
