OrdIowPitMsp
Got pretty serious here for a little while. Round 1 is wrapping up imby, eyeballing ~4” with another 3-4” coming round 2.
weatherbo
Flurries just starting. Final call is 15 inches of wet snow by storms end. Got my wood stocked, vehicles put away, all my chores done, and nowhere I need to be until next Monday.

cyclone77
MLI had a good shot at approaching record temps today, but they stayed socked in by dense fog by just a few miles. Just a few miles south the fog lifted and temps were near 60, or about 10 degrees higher than MLI. You woulda never knew the clearing line was so close, as it was very dark and dismal within that heavy fog bank.
OrdIowPitMsp
It won’t stop puking snow in Minneapolis. 6” at the midnight observation. Probably an additional 3-4” since then, roads are a complete mess. Trees are bending under the weight of all the snow and we’ve smashed past 40” on the year in the first week of January. 8

Keep it up there. Ground is bare near MKE.

MSP has had incredible luck so far this season. Nearly every system has taken the perfect track. The current upper low could not have stalled in a better spot. CheeselandSkies
Early Jan. 2021 was when we had something like four straight days of freezing fog creating rime ice on everything. They're still the most recent photos in my winter wx Flickr album.

Over 45” on the season now.
weatherbo
Snow was quick hitting and heavy last night. Measured 6.7" of 10:1 on the driveway which was scraped clean prior to the snow starting. The temp hovered around 30 all night... felt oddly warm. Pretty much every single model paints another foot plus right through here over the next 36 hours, so no reason to doubt it. Radar returns slowly on the increase but currently it's freezing drizzle.

Brian D
4" this morning. Winds off the lake up to 30+ mph blowing it around some. Just some light snow showers off and on coming off the lake. Hope to see a more organized band develop later in the day, but that could end up going down towards Duluth.
Brian D
Duluth is at the northern most edge of precip right now with the band across E C MN into N WI. 3-6" being reported early this morning, but reports later should show a lot more under that band. Storm warning in effect for them.

Torchageddon
I'm impressed by how heavy the rains have been during the last 24 hours. I may reach 30 mm afterall. The returns near Miss and Hamilton are drench-worthy. The squirrels are back out playing and buds are appearing on some bushes. Spring I guess.
