Brian D
This will be another strong event as the low moves NE of the Lakes. Strong, and very cold W to NW winds should provide ample Lake snows for the favored regions over the Christmas weekend.
Brian D
Northern areas of MI looking good for intense LES snowfall, with some synoptic mixed in. Blizzard conditions widespread along the shoreline areas for sure. Weatherbo should pop in soon for his comments, and pics when things get going. michsnowfreak
It does look interesting. But I thought we would keep everything in the other thread. Doesn't matter to me though.

That thread will end up pretty long, and the conversion from synoptics to LES events into the weekend should have its own.

Harry
Really not sure what to expect here? GRR afd mentioned that they expect the highest totals a bit further inland then the November event which means this area would be in that zone. Gut says they upgrade this county to a blizzard warning.
Brian D
3-11" of snow being reported early this morning across the northern areas of MI from the synoptic/lake enhanced stuff so far. Snow should amp up a bit as the cold N/NW flow kicks in hard for the weekend.

sbnwx85
Guess I'll start posting in here since we're in the lake-effect portion of the storm locally. Snow has eased but should get a boost with the wave currently moving down the lake around Green Bay.

Roger Smith
Managed to find a list of co-op snowfall reports, the highest I spotted in MI was at a place called Mancelona which is a few miles northeast of TVC, and they report 26 inches with a base of 24" ... GRR had reported a total of about 17 inches 22nd-24th so far.

RogueWaves
Odd that I am posting here, but I woke to 1" of fresh LES on Christmas morning. Headed to my sister's place in Birch Run early and it was still snowing. Nobody on the roads. Hit some heavier stuff near Brighton and x-way was covered. Everything white. Was almost Courier and Ives gorgeous. Thought I was in NMI for a moment. Not a Big Dog, but certainly a unique dog. Drifts in the farmlands were 2-6 foot. Great day despite the icy-dicey roads. I was hoping that band would sink to the 94 corridor but was shocked to wake up to 2 fresh inches here. It was an even blanket covering the other drifty snow, it really was a Courier and Ives White Christmas. 3rd time in 6 years we wake up to fresh white Christmas morning.

I wrote an inch, but I think it was more on the order of 1.5" and another 1/2" was in my footprints when I got back in town.
