Why are we not looking at it right now? I want to have to peel the white off of my shorts when I wake up.

And if that makes anybody uneasy. Tough. If it's ruined your breakfast, eat before ten. This isn't Sunday. Breakfast with Jesus is only on Sunday. Eat at 8 like a normal person on Monday.

You may be waiting a while for your load of crust in shorts.

You ruined nothing for me pal and I work out, eat and am out the door at 7.  Thats more "normal" I'd think, but maybe in these new times, I'm just an old codger just like you (albeit on a diff schedule cause I work out, eat and am out the door by 7am.

My telling @canderson I am going to wide-shaft his wife, mother, and his entire family tree during the height of a Storm Mode model PBP is banter.

Yeah, 8 is probably late considering most of y'all here got one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel lol. I'm working at six but wait for the sun to have its first cup of coffee before I have mine.

with all due respect....tell us something we didnt already know.  Its a general winter disco board.

Some of you need to stop acting like this is a NWS forecast page where all info is being shared to the media outlets.  For all of us regulars...we know what this thread is, and none here (pro or otherwise) has the ability to accurately post anything w/ confidence beyond 5-7 days in many instances.

We cant even get a banter thread...let alone a LR and SR thread...LMAO but thanks for stopping in tho.........LOL

Your welcome to post here, but if the content bothers you, go back to Philly thread.

sorry you cannot get a banter thread. LR vs SR threads are a workaround for the banter thread IMHO. I like reading and posting in this forum because the Philly forum posters concentrate too much on NJ.  There is a life beyond NJ and their  wishcasters for every storm to be a major coastal storm.  It seems we are forgotten that nearly a million people live in the Lehigh Valley metro area until there is a major pile up on I -78 or RT 222. At least this  forum acknowledges that physical geography plays a vital part in accurate  weather forecasting for the LV as the LV is not in the coastal plain.

I spent time in the Philly and MA threads years ago.  I've seen how they roll (fair to say they have/had a couple issues.....no??) lol

Many times sports/general chat is widely accepted, and weather "chatter" I'll call it cause a couple self anointed "content moderators" think its just that...gets frowned upon.  Our forum is what it is...and everyone knows well enough what is banter/chatter/disco/wishcasting blah blah blah.

This forum is not elite, and some need to stop thinking it otherwise.  Come on in...share and make your own conclusions....or find a PRO board to take your elite status to (thats a general statement-and not pointed at you).

Back to weather, they can go ahead and hoist high wind warnings everyone Chicago east, Richmond VA north i think. We look to be sustained around 50-55 mph if I'm reading correctly for hours and hours.

yeah I'm a tad nervous about my daughters flight....If they time it right, they can get at elevation and just the engines off and glide over a few states.  Ugh

agreed. I've lived in my town my entire life. I don't ever recall the wind like this.

It is getting almost common place to have gusts well into the 50's.   Speaking of damage caused by weather, the ice storm last week caused fairly extensive tree damage and downed trees in the South Mountain area.

thanks. I will be posting here more often. No I am not an elite but I do have 45 years experience in weather forecasting. I am a retired physical geographer with a concentration in atmospheric science _ the days before they had computer models outside of Maryland. I was an air traffic controller in the Navy and worked as a remote sensing for the CIA( landsat imagery). My uncle was the western regional director for the NWS until he retired 20 years ago- so yes I do know the weather before computers and the internet  got into the picture. I refer to models as tools of the trade and not the bible for storm forecasting.  I have seen every type of storm imaginable from being in an F3 tornado in Arkansas, hurricanes in MS, blizzards in the east coast,  125 degrees in death valley, 60 inches of snow in a single storm  in the mts of S California, dust storms, ice storms in Memphis Tn. and blistering cold of -25 degrees in wisconsin and my favorite -fog in the bay area so thick you have to get out of your car to see where you were at on the road. I just want to bring my experiences to the table to share with others and to simply tell your forum I am not some crackpot troller

Welcome, that is quite the extensive line of experience.  My daughter lives in the LV so I personally keep a close eye on the weather there.

So I admit I am not an expert at reading models but I have learned a lot from all of you over the years but I have what is probably a dumb question lol. I only ever look at tropical tidbits so today I decided to look at Pivotal. Here's the dumb question. Same 12Z GFS run same frame 00Z on the 25th tropical shows 3 inches for my location and Pivotal shows 6 both on the 10:1 ratio. Why lol?
