Long way to go & lots for the models to resolve for both events. The development of the blocking can give models challenges as well, so we will see where the trends lead this week. The record for Thur is 75. The all-time record is the 21st at 79. DC might hit 80 which would only be the 4th time it's ever gotten that hot during winter which is super impressive

The March 12-15, 2017 storm was a NESIS 3 and 2018 had 4 NESIS ranked events in March consisting of two 2’s and two 1’s of which one was the March 22-23rd snowstorm. Kind of an unexpected progression.

Yep, and that's exactly why I refuse to say winter is over despite how epically horrible it has been. Plenty of time left for a late season hurrah.

Blizzard of 93
The 6z GFS & 0z Canadian both show a brief mix on Wednesday for most of CTP.
Blizzard of 93
The overnight models also still give us a chance at light snow at some point on Saturday. The GFS has it slightly to our south at this time, the Canadian & Euro have CTP in the light precip potential.
Blizzard of 93
The EPS still shows the end of the month potential with the initial low tracking to our west but then redeveloping on the Mid Atlantic coast. We need this to happen a little further south to deliver snow potential to CTP. This would be at the beginning stages of the blocking, so time will tell the impacts that it will have on this system. Didn't we also have a small snowstorm in late March early April a couple years ago as well? Even though that was a small accumulation event it was still wild seeing it snow that late into the season. Itstrainingtime
Seems like the weekend and early next week potential are slowly but surely fading for snow hopes. It seemed a little fast/soon to score...on the maps above that Blizz posted for this weekend the ridge axis isn't even close to where we want it. ChescoWx
With the exception of Friday this week looks pretty unsettled weather wise with temps bouncing from warmer today and tomorrow; colder Wednesday with maybe some snow mixed with rain; very warm on Thursday in the 60's then colder for the weekend with snow changing to rain. Records for today: High 71 (1930) / Low 4 below zero (1903) / Precipitation 2.11" (1924) / Snow 11.0" (1921)

WmsptWx
Let's just get spring here. Took a nice walk yesterday and quite frankly, the thought of cold and/or snow right now is upsetting. Blizz posting maps in February in the midst of a damn-near shut out is basically the same thing as a doctor performing CPR on a corpse for over an hour because he fucked up treatment, killed the patient, and has made it personal. Time for spring to sprung.Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk

Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk we all know how this is gonna go. we've had pretty much nothing but spring weather all winter except for a few days. now that we're heading towards spring the weather pattern we all wanted for the last 2 months will start establishing itself and last well into May, if not June. 3
