It has reached 74 or over dozens of February days with 10 of the 28 having a record of 74 or over.  The record for Thur is 75.  The all-time record is the 21st at 79.

DC might hit 80 which would only be the 4th time it's ever gotten that hot during winter which is super impressive

Our latest two spring fling February frolics into the 70’s in 2017 and 2018 both eventually yielded to key major winter storms in C-PA and overall favorable periods, esp in 2018. The March 12-15, 2017 storm was a NESIS 3 and 2018 had 4 NESIS ranked events in March consisting of two 2’s and two 1’s of which one was the March 22-23rd snowstorm.

We hit 58 by 1:30 - shortly thereafter clouds moved in and temps dropped. It was 57 at 2pm, 54 at 3pm, and down to 50 at 4pm.

Kind of an unexpected progression.

Yep, and that's exactly why I refuse to say winter is over despite how epically horrible it has been. Plenty of time left for a late season hurrah.

The EPS still shows the end of the month potential with the initial low tracking to our west but then redeveloping on the Mid Atlantic coast.

We need this to happen a little further south to deliver snow potential to CTP. This would be at the beginning stages of the blocking, so time will tell the impacts that it will have on this system.

Didn't we also have a small snowstorm in late March early April a couple years ago as well? Even though that was a small accumulation event it was still wild seeing it snow that late into the season.

With the exception of Friday this week looks pretty unsettled weather wise with temps bouncing from warmer today and tomorrow; colder Wednesday with maybe some snow mixed with rain; very warm on Thursday in the 60's then colder for the weekend with snow changing to rain.
Records for today: High 71 (1930) / Low 4 below zero (1903) / Precipitation 2.11" (1924) / Snow 11.0" (1921)

Let's just get spring here. Took a nice walk yesterday and quite frankly, the thought of cold and/or snow right now is upsetting.

Blizz posting maps in February in the midst of a damn-near shut out is basically the same thing as a doctor performing CPR on a corpse for over an hour because he fucked up treatment, killed the patient, and has made it personal.

Time for spring to sprung.

we all know how this is gonna go.  we've had pretty much nothing but spring weather all winter except for a few days.  now that we're heading towards spring the weather pattern we all wanted for the last 2 months will start establishing itself and last well into May, if not June.
