Blizzard of 93
All 3 major ensembles look great starting this weekend through the end of the month with with general pattern. The 15 day snow maps on the ensembles have really ramped up as well and have the look that is screaming “it’s gonna snow!”
Blizzard of 93
@psuhoffman in the Mid Atlantic forum today said the upcoming pattern reminds him of 1994. 1994 was very memorable for CTP, with most of us being on the right side of the gradient. MDT had a top 10 snow season with over 70 inches in 1994. I would be thrilled with just getting back on the board with a few Warning level snow events to make this year a respectable season.

mahantango#1
Got to love DT. Last night he said heavy snow was possible around the 23rd. Tonight he said rain would make up the Precipitation for the rest of January. Only northern New England would stand the chance of getting any snow.

Most of his followers are from VA, so it really does not matter. He is far often more wrong than right!

May have a cut or 2 left before we stop the bleeding while canada cools and starts to feed us some 540s that get below us for once. Good news is like you shared, GFS is becoming more of an outlier in it's presentation. Pac reshuffle is step 1 and wouldnt surprise me if that 23 deal gets better but maybe not quite there yet.

Almost half of October was above average and remember just how hot it was the first 2 weeks of November? The only time it got really cold was around Christmas for a few days. Another thing that seems forgotten is averages increased 2 degrees all over the state because we're now using averages from 1990-2020. The old averages we used were 1980-2010 which were 2 degrees cooler on average than they are now im in south central PA and the start of fall went from like 86 the day before down to the 60s for the next 2 weeks. we had people at work complaining how it sucked going from really hot weather to chilly out of no where. Mind you these were older people. it even then became even colder down to the 50s for a good week when we should of been in the low 70s.

That's exactly what's going on out here in Phoenix right now. 50's for the next week despite clear, sunny skies. For here, that's 10 degrees below average. Nice work Blizz. You're all over this one, so keep up the good mojo and bring it home for us (well us as in most of the forum, as I'm likely in trouble down here).
