Ok lets see if this clears it up.  Having people post from WVa that are closer to DC than PHL makes more sense cause what weather they get often has an impact on what happens here and points east of them.  NOTHING from PHL or its surrounding will affect my weather.  And they have their own place to post.  So go there.

Not from Philly, don’t live in Philly, don’t claim Philly. I’m going no where bud.

I get that, and that's totally fine. I don't mind them posting at all, even if I admit sometimes the convo gets confusing when someone is analyzing models and talking about snow and it's supposed to be 37 and raining where pretty much everyone else lives and then I realize that person lives in Deep Creek.

I just think it's odd that someone from Philly is scorned from posting here when their forum is dead, they are respectful, and their weather is almost identical to nearly everyone that posts in this forum except for the handful or so of folks that live way out in the far reaches of our region.

I feel like anyone in the Mid-Atlantic, which Philly is despite having another forum, should be welcomed so long as they are respectful. I love learning from other posters.

Well all philly posters should be scorned.  But telling them to go post in their respective forum isn't out of line.  We made the move to subforms years ago to PREVENT this very thing

OMG I never post but had to here because some in here take this way too serious.  As long as they are a good poster and are contributing who really cares where they are from.  Honestly there are posters from this forum that add nothing accept banter yet they are okay because they fall within the virtual boundary that someone created?  It's the weather for goodness sakes, if someone is passionate about it and wants to contribute in a weather forum then they should be allowed.  Now if someone outside the territory comes in just to cause trouble by all means, kick them to the curb.

Ok so lets just go back to one forum where we have to hear about BOS weather.

I just think it is funny how people get so bent out of shape if a  person or two outside imaginary drawn boundaries post in our forum.  They are acting like they are breaking into their house or something.  I mean with mappy's reasoning about Shrewsbury, someone up in Cecil Co... would be in the same boat as someone in southern Chester Co.

Sorry, y'all.  Buy mappy is not in the wrong here.  There are the correct places for people to post.  If its dead up there that's not our problem.  Tell this clown to go post in PHL and generate activity.

Now why would I do that when I’m having so much fun with you here big fella

Yeah the geographic boundaries for subforums work, but telling some guy to **** off back to the Philly subforum when he lives 10 miles off the MD/PA border is just mean and pointless. In an era of dying online forums this is entirely the wrong attitude to have.

Exactly.

A lot of these vibes going on

Who is bent out of shape?  Telling someone to go to their own forum isn't a problem.  Thats what has to be done by staff because there are places for them to post.

It's no different from someone posting from Deep Creek or West Virginia, that said I have no problem with anyone posting in good faith from other sub forums. As long as they post respectfully and add to the conversation then what is the matter if they live right outside our specific sub forum boundaries?

Deep Creek (Garrett Co.) was part of NWS Pittsburgh’s area until it got illogically moved to LWX and separated from geographically similar Preston and Tucker counties. Then again, DC folk stole Deep Creek as our rightful Pittsburgh vacation spot and priced a lot of Pittsburghers out of it so that’s par for the course.
