Winterweatherlover
Ok after looking at the latest CMC/Euro runs I think I was wrong rain is a bigger concern than OTS. Having the gfs as the only model remotely close to what most of this subforum wants is not comforting. 2 2

SnowGoose69
The GFS Op taken as gospel is not realistic...that lead system would probably drag the baroclinic zone east a bit and that low track would not be that far west in the end...we'd also snow alot more from 168-175 than is shown...the systems which track up the coast from SC almost due northward usually result in insane isentropic lift and snow rates before the changeover like a 11/2018 or 1/87 1

mannynyc
This definitely isn’t a terrible place to be with the GFS at this point.

But it doesn't have any support. Last 2 CMC runs were a rainstorm, and last night's Euro was a rainstorm. We'll see what the 12z Euro shows this afternoon, but the trends are not good at all.

North and West
Just from my years of watching, didn’t the high pressure move from Boise (which is a usual rule of thumb of where you want it for a storm here) to off the west coast generally mean it wants to make it cut?Is that me or just my hallucinogenic qaaludes talking? .
