George001
I don’t get why people are saying we are kicking the can. The EPS has a great signal for the 12-13th. Some of the indies take the low into the 970s and 960s. Even if we do kick the can a bit it’s really not a big deal.

No, but it’s holding the “wintry early season at a ski area” vibe. At least it’s white. The Mansfield Stake is at 10”. Hovering either side of average past week. It’s certainly no dumpster fire (yet). This afternoon:

weathafella
I hope the 18z gfs verifies as I'll be in Chicago which will get decent snow from the 12/11 event. But the next run will likely be different.

Interesting to see that while this pattern is annoying, it’s really not that crazy. I remember plenty of seasons where coverage by mid December was thin - and plenty of snowpacks wiped around the holidays only to pretty much start fresh in January. But it’s easy to forget those and only think of the seasons when we were skiing glades by Thanksgiving

It really isn’t though. Normal highs at 1500ft are still above freezing (35F) right now. Places like BTV and valleys down in CNE/SNE are still 40F or higher average maxes.

Stuff had sticking power with 5” SWE in my core sample. We had 40s and 50s for almost 2 weeks straight. Had snow on ground from Nov 16-today. I’m a snowfall rates guy so dont really care about snow depth unless it’s extreme 3’+. It snowed a few hours after this, but this was close to the max depth.
