Shortened an already short window Other than it's not typically a deep winter month period when your avg highs are in the 40s. But rock on. Prob solid advisory snows for central and western zones. I'd be plenty happy if we got 2-3". Still gotta watch further southwest for an IVT/Norlun as it exits.

I'd be happy with that.
weathafella
Given the rest of the guidance regarding end of next week-GFS appears to be a far outlier. So we know it's a SWFE and the only question is how much cold can hold. I know it's very early but this may be a near replica 15 years later. Dumbfounded...
Damage In Tolland
IMO a larger scale ice event is also a possible scenario to consider for next week 1

I think NNE and probably much of CNE is safe for all snow . Just looking at this setup it screams of a significant icing zone somewhere

ROOSTA
December rarely delivers the goodies. Disappointment waits for those who think so. It's more a transition Month for most of the time in the three southern states. Cashing-in Winter because of a bad early start? All it will take is one or two blockbusters in a 6–8-week timeframe. I used to despise the 1-3" pinpricks, hours of wasted time for what? Someone should post soundings for assorted cities by model and run time. First place, well maybe second or third place in a storm threat to look at. Crunch time it's soundings less the slam-dunks.
ORH_wxman
Destroys N ORH county to Berks and CNE. Kind of like a Dec '92 shifted north a bit.

wxsniss
50/50 low feature actually seemed to dig a bit more 12z vs. 0z... so while a hugger, surface low initially gets squashed further south... obviously all of this still in flux

dryslot
A lot of the earlier AM giddiness has fallen off i see as the 12z Op GFS popped a big hole in the balloon the next 16 days or so, The block plays a roll on how its being handled by the models so your going to see some runs that will whiff.
