Memorial weekend looks stormy to start, and mostly clearing out by Monday with lingering weather in the southeastern half of the sub. Possible lingering trough over the north bringing showers.

Memorial Day May 29 wx map.gif

Timing off here as rain chances don't start to enter the region until Monday, and then throughout the week, with high pressure pushing down from the north by weeks end.

My forecast for Father's Day, and Juneteenth (18th & 19th). Exiting front with high pressure moving in keeping things pleasant, although a little cool across the lakes. More shower/storm potential moving in from the west. There may still be a stationary boundary affecting the southern sub, tho.

Juneteenth June 19 wx map.gif

Father's day front ended up as a trough that washes out. Energy along the southernmost part of the sub moves through. Maps off for Father's day, but decent for Juneteenth. Forecast so-so.

Posted this a few months ago in the Holiday 2022 thread for July 4, 2023. That approaching front should stir things up for the evening in the western sub with rising temps.

Pretty close call here. Issued this last Nov. Front moving in a little quicker than anticipated, so the W sub will be under the gun on the 3rd & especially the 4th with a decent risk of svr wx.

Constitution Citizens Day on Sept 17th, I'm expecting some showers, with a little thunder possible for some. It's possible some energy in the west may kick out along the boundary, riding it through our region.

BTW, this day is a dual observed day for the adoption of the Constitution and those who became naturalized citizens.

Yes it is. But the pattern, and possible tropical system I'm forecasting are being captured here. We'll see in a couple weeks what it actually ends up being like. :)

You might be on to something here, looks like a few runs actually show sizable tropical systems, but yea we shall see in the coming weeks.

Friendship Day in early Aug looks rather warm with  a threat of shwrs/stms. Something possible in the S/SE sections of the sub to watch, might be tropical in nature.

Friendship Day Aug 6 wx map.gif

Looks good for this cast. Nothing tropical as I mentioned the possibility, but an area of low pressure moving through with a front, and more energy in the W sub.

Senior Citizen's Day looking like a front moving through bringing some wet weather.

Looks like I'm a day off on this one. Front moves through on the 20th with little fanfare. Precip looks to be pretty isolated, if any.

Labor Day looks like a front moving into the region to end the weekend. It also looks like a front will be making it's way through to start the weekend as well.

Just looking ahead here. Today's 12z GFS run looking like what I'm expecting for Labor day weekend. Unsettled weather. So we'll see if that pans out.

So-so forecast here. Not much rain to speak of, with some showers moving through the C Lakes region today. Front does move in today, but turns stationary with high pressure moving along S CA bringing in another front from the N by Monday over the N areas. Hot weekend to be sure in the W sub. Enjoy your holiday weekend everyone :)

Forecast for Columbus day looks pretty nice. Might be some instability shwrs in the eastern areas, and off the lakes. Pleasant during the day, but rather chilly in the a.m. Frost possible for some.

Veteran's Day this year looks like a front moving through with a little energy possible running ahead or along the boundary. Chilly, blustery wx coming behind this one should kick up some LER/S.

Veteran's Day wx map.gif

Looks like I'm a day too slow on this cast, but looks OK otherwise.
