The Waterboy
It seems like every hourly run of the RAP and HRRR continue to shift to the SE. Pretty soon Little Rock’s going to be in the sweet spot. LOL.
MUWX
Snow starting to mix in with the rain here in Springfield.
stormdragonwx
Hoping the temps start to crash soon here in NWA or the forecast might get blown. Currently 42 here at my place.
RocketWX
Man this would have been a pretty epic snow here had the temps been just a degree or 2 colder. That band of snow set up shop right over SC KS for the past 2 hours but at 33.4deg at my place it just can't accumulate much. Not over yet, but it's always something...I'll take the moisture at least.
ouamber
It's 38 in Tulsa right now. I'm not sure we are gonna make 4 inches right now.
stormdragonwx
Yeah higher elevations might still get the forecast 6-12" over my way but I think where I am at Im probably gonna be seeing 4-6" max if this doesn't shift SE as some models are wanting to hint at otherwise. Lower 40's temps is not a good sign.
NwWhiteOut
Sitting at 35 here now, decent rain with sleet mixed in. If it matters, our elevation here on this road is around 1200 ft. Snow/rain mix now
StormChazer
Still just rain here in Tulsa. Hoping this band from the south moving northward will be the push that brings the transition on.
ouamber
I don't know what happened, but Mike Collier just did a live Facebook and stated Tulsa will be lucky to get an inch. We were in a donut hole, literally. I haven't seen a flake today. I guess the storm tracked too far south?? Any ideas what happened besides being too warm? Was is dry air?

Looks like you'll still get snow, but farther south storm track and precip rates that were unable to cause a changeover with the first part of the system.
NwWhiteOut
Holding at 32.8 here, been snowing fairly heavily for an hour or so now. So heavy of snow it's sticking to everything, wet slushy snow. I'd love to see this temp drop at least another degree

Taking too long to change over. KNWA now talking about a dry slot that might affect us later as well. You never know what's going to happen once these things get going. Accumulation should really pick up once the sun goes down
stormdragonwx
Indeed I was surprised how quick it changed over and accumulated since my last post. And yes it's sticking to both grassy surfaces and surprisingly even to parking lots and lesser driven streets. Dropped rapidly to 34 at my location over the past hour. Large wet heavy flakes falling. So crazy man usually things do the opposite and it's doing nothing here but up there it is lol. Hopefully we don't get dry slotted!!! It's that type of snow that just compacts down so fast. Haven't seen flakes this large in a very long time though so it's cool to see
JoMo
Yeah, AR/MO still look good for the most part KS/N OK will have to rely on getting what they can from the backside of the system.
rockchalk83
Storms in warm sector of these storms always tend to rob the moisture from the snow side. It's something the models struggle mightily at trying to predict. Take what we can get, though, we're still in a drought after all.
ArkieOkie
It’s been snowing here on the state line in OK near Fort Smith for about 3 hours. Huge flakes at times.
stormdragonwx
Was driving around. Been parked up here by Drake Field/Greenland with 1.5-2 in of accumulation already. Its covering parking lots and the main streets now with the latter being a slushy mess but still covered. Large heavy snowflakes continue to fall. Doramo
Temp 31.8 snowing moderately . Accumulation 1" so far . It took longer than I thought for the transition from light rain/sleet to all snow but it is cranking currently . Now that the temp hit freezing the snow should start mounting up quickly ....I hope . Too bad the snow is coming down at night as I would have loved seeing this during the day but we are happy (ecstatic ) non the less .
StormChazer
Nothing but rain in Tulsa while all other directions around us getting snow….I’ve had the rug swept out under my feet before, but this one stings a little more than others.

stormdragonwx
There's talk of a dreaded Dry Slot now... that could kill our overall totals here in AR too. Storm was too good to be true. https://twitter.com/NWSLittleRock/status/1618057323569713153?s=

stormdragonwx
Could be true. It will be interesting to see how much of that wraparound holds together or intensifies as well. The latter could also decide things for SW MO and NE OK.

MoWeatherguy
Some of the region could be in a sweet spot with that pivot/trowal as the low starts to turn NE.
