Torchageddon
I'm already up to 21C / 70F (again!) which is 3C over my forecast high. This coincides with the other 20C+ reading two years ago today which is in itself a once in decade or perhaps more event. Low was 10C. Smells like spring outside, hopefully on the way. OrdIowPitMsp
Only 0.87” of rain materialized here. Far too little to even make a dent in the drought. Peaked at 68 this morning before the cold front came through, down to 46 and crashing now. We won’t get more then a degree or two above freezing for the next week. Lakes will be frozen soon enough!

This is Chicago's 2nd warmest temp on record for so late in the season (it was 78 on 11/14/1971). Also, if the cold front can hold off until after midnight, the record high min for November 10th will be shattered...which is amazing with a 150+ year POR. Current record is 52 set in 1949. Today's min (so far) has been 62.

cyclone77
Guessing that hurricane must have caused the models headaches, as they all did a piss poor job at handling the placement of tonight's rain swath. Still not a drop here, and looks like the main band will crap the bed on the door step later tonight. Hope to get an errant flurry Saturday. hawkeye_wx
I wasn't expecting a lot of rain after the brief storm along the front, but post-front precip really expanded this evening and trained over the area for several hours. I ended up with 0.84". The last hour was sleet.

Brian D
7 minutes ago, Hoosier said: It did seem a little mild Going to be like Oct, very mild start, then the bottom falls out. Then probably back to milder weather late into early Dec. Then back to cold again in the midst of Dec. Wash, rinse, repeat for the rest of the year. That's the feel I'm getting looking forward, even into winter season.
hawkeye_wx
After two days of 70s, we likely won't make it to 32º today. It's still in the upper 20s at 1pm.
sbnwx85
A minor lake effect event locally still looking good. Generally, 1 to 3 inches with a few 4 inch lollipops. Active pattern and the flow off the lake should keep things interesting through next week.
