It was green until I went past Cumberland on I-68 and gained elevation. Garrett County has some nice color right now. Probably peaking in a week or two?

Thank you. Color is coming on fast. I'd bet peak is close at 3K. Was hoping to get out to Deep Creek and Davis next weekend You'll see some nice colors in the foothills out this way in the maples, sumac, and such. Suspect the Blue Ridge is beginning to dazzle too. This is going to be an earlier show than I can remember in a while.

The DNR is expecting peak in the county on October 15 but I suspect the highest points in the county (3,000+ feet) will be now through then. https://news.maryland.gov/dnr/2022/10/06/fall-foliage-report-october-6-2022/

CAPE
low of 49 here. Currently 50. Beautiful outside. Was out mowing the new grass area and after 7 days of wet, the moles have been busy gobbling up earthworms that have ascended towards the surface. Ravaged the whole area lol. Nature always wins.

87storms
as it often times happens after a frontal or storm passage (for whatever reason), clouds have rolled in. hoping by mid afternoon (after the terps game), the sun takes over again after that UL energy moves through...with these temps, it's needed. Winds are decoupled and it otherwise feels like winter here. Drove in this morning along new Germany road and savage river forest, if that area isn’t peak color it’s damn close. Color is pretty nice this year.
