Tatamy
Starting to see a lot more locations with wind gusts to between 50-60 mph, especially in more exposed places. This is especially true in eastern Nova Scotia.

Hazey
Lost power an hour ago. I’m gusting 95kmh or around 55mph. Still a while to go. Very heavy rain bands. I’m over 50mm (2”) and counting. Winds seem to be mixing down pretty good even inland where I’m at. Stormy night ahead.
canderson
Josh just tweeted: 11:30 pm. Odd storm. Radar says the heavy rain has passed. I don't think even gusts reached gale force in Sydney. Rain has now slackened to drizzle. Perhaps we'll get strong winds on dry side of storm, as can happen with these (apparently) post-tropical cyclones. #FIONA

Tatamy
A lot of stations going offline with power outages increasing. I am seeing a lot of pressure values in the range of 28.50 to 28.65 inHG currently in the region. This converts to 965-970 mb.

During Sandy those were where the really strong (80-90mph gusts) mixed down. And the sting jet behind the center would be another spot.
dan11295
Latest recon pass was 929.8 extrap so pressure probably bottomed out a couple of hours ago.

SnowGoose69
If Beaver Island had had a peak wind of 82kts its likely Sable Island went above that at some point when the anemometer was failing

I think i remember that, was kinda weird where like it would calm slightly between cells. And then after like a five minute break another light to moderate shower would move over and slam us with hurricane force wind gusts.

Tatamy
Wind speeds have come down across eastern Nova Scotia (especially closer to Halifax) and the direction has changed over to more of a westerly component as the center starts to move through.
