fluoronium
^ I saw this run and immediately conceded to weenie season. I wouldn't mind a redo of the Halloween 2019 snowstorm. Fall colors plus fresh snow is hard to beat.

Hoosier
LOT went back and found that a 167 year old tornado that was believed to have occurred in what is now the far nw side of Chicago didn't actually occur there, but rather in what is now Des Plaines. Some nice detective work. https://storymaps.arcgis.com/stories/5b048ba7ede74e61bf265e91001f4e1a

RogueWaves
Will check with JB - hah! Just said that he's been calling for an active end to the tropical season, and this late-game storm is following their thoughts about cold coming not long after. Comparing this to Kate that hit FL 11-20-85 after which the cold settled in. I've heard others liking 85-86 as an analog winter.

Torchageddon
I haven't had a synoptic snowstorm in Dec here since 2008, I'm predicting the streak continues again this go around. Can't get over how absurd that is for someone in Canada of all places.

Chinook
Happy Thanksgiving. 72 years ago, Thanksgiving Day was on the 23rd of November. On the 24th, deep upper level low was over the central USA. This drove an arctic air mass into the Ohio Valley. A surface low pressure intensified in North Carolina, then moved north and stalled in Ohio. Heavy snow and blizzard conditions hit Ohio. This was one of the most impactful weather events for northern West Virginia of all time. http://greatlakes.salsite.com/maps/nov2327_1950_sfc_loop.gif
