BlizzardNole
This is CoCoRaHS for a spot just east of Clarksburg and a couple miles NE of me; iWeather zoomed in on the same spot has 3.93. I thought the iWeather map was pretty spot on but does it sometimes over-estimate by that much?

North Balti Zen
Went for a run at lunch downtown - was pretty humid - caught me off-guard - I guess I was thinking cooler a bit behind the rain. Was not.
kgottwald
Thought it was supposed to stay cloudy all day. If I'd known the afternoon was going to be sunny I'd have brought my hat, and a book to read on my walk home. Reading on my phone doesn't work on sunny days because the screen just gets washed out, unless I set the text size to something ridiculous like six words per page. It seems like, if it isn't actually raining, drizzling or about to rain, it's damn hard to get an overcast afternoon in the DC area. IIRC these were a lot more common in the 70s and 80s. There is a lot less summertime haze / air pollution now than I remember from this era, which is presumably thanks to emission controls of all kinds but predominately from less coal burning for electricity generation. Indeed - inbound precip is heading SE. Check out the returns over NJ. One level of precip is heading NE and another layer in the same general area is headed West. 2
