I'm diggin' this fall weather, only 62 for a high today under an all-day overcast.  

Noticed a few corn fields have been harvested already, so that season has begun.

I agree if it were to stay this way, but realizing the heat is swiftly coming back I'm enjoying it these past few days.

Noticed it got down to 45 in Cedar Rapids this morning.  Brrr

As far as late weekend-early next week, records for Chicago for the period in question are generally 93-94.  Will certainly try to make a run toward that, especially next week, but I'd lean on it falling a little short at this point... except at Magic Midway.

Short time lapse with phone.  Wall cloud early on, then undercut by cold front, and after about the 40 sec mark you can see meso cranking on right side of screen after cold front clouds pass by.

You're not wrong. Awesome winds on the backside of that thing as it strengthened, you can also see up top the changing of the winds as well

The September climate here in recent years has been to die for — basically an extension of summer.

Drought-stricken southeast IA getting it good this evening.  

Picked up 0.21" rain earlier today.  Most of the day the rain has crapped out while crossing the Mississippi.

Scattered very light rain and sprinkles yesterday and overnight added up to a mighty 0.10".

Ended up with 0.30" here.  Could add to that later today with some big storms.

Last 3 days netted 1.11" of rain here in town. Only 0.83' at the airport NW of town. Sept has over 3" of rain for the month so far, so that is pretty good. Making up for some of the deficit from the summer. Max temps this month have mostly been near avg to above. The lows, tho, have been mostly warm for this time of year. A little extra summer is always good. The cool/cold season is long.

A couple storms popped this evening and dropped 0.70" on my yard... a pleasant surprise.

Good to see the event ended up a bit further northwest for you guys.

Finished with 1.11" tonight, and 1.41" since yesterday.  That brings us to 9.80" since Aug 1st.

Fall coming in right on cue. Temps will be in the upper 50's to low 60's starting mid week with chilly mornings at the equinox. That's seasonable weather here. Basically average to a little below average. This forecast for town is near shore, so we are generally a little warmer than away from the lake. Forecast shows cooler conditions away from the lake.

Could use some rain again here.  Under 0.5" since September 1st.  Still looking decently lush from August rains, but I noticed a lot of trees are showing brown and dropping leaves.  Its especially bad on the east side of the state that missed most of the August rains.    Hard to say what kind of color show it will be this year.  Last year was terrible.
