Torchageddon
Had a very warm overnight low of 18C/64F for this spot in mid-Sept, overcast with humidity combo to get it. Inside I didn't drop below 25.5C/78F.

bowtie`
We did double down overnight and this morning. So far 2.09" in the tippy bucket for the event. The best convective dynamics heading off to the northeast. Wonder how much more we might get with the frontal part?

Hoosier
After having no measurable precip through the first 10 days of the month, ORD is up to 0.79" and counting. Sounds like there is some fairly significant flooding around parts of Chicago.

Hoosier
No wonder there were problems in Chicago. Reports of 5-6" with 3"+ in one hour. That'll cause issues in an urban area.
Chicago Storm
SLP fairly visible on radar the past few hours, moving north over Lake Michigan. The mild lake and frictional land/water differences on either side may be having a positive feedback on things a bit..
Chicago Storm
Hell of a feature spinning over Lake Michigan. Hard to explain what kind of feature it even isThere were numerous couplets with non-severe t’storms/rain showers across NE IL and Southern Lake Michigan today. Some of this activity, as alluded to by madwx, did spin up into an MCV or two.
Hoosier
There's a real shot that it doesn't get out of the 50s here on Monday. If it does make it to 60, it will be a real scratch and claw.

My records show quite a few big rain events up through 2015. There was a ten-year stretch when I AVERAGED 8" in June. I remember putting the pump on the patio and bailing out the window wells. There just hasn't been anything like that in recent years, that's all. While I love heavy rain, I certainly don't want water in the basement again. One of these years we'll get a 5+" event and have water issues again.
