Hempstead lake is gone. All the trees surrounding it are dead. This isn’t just needed rain… . Very sad to hear that. That's a big lake; theoretically part of NYC's reservoir system. lee59
I picked up .58 inch of rain from a small cell that was over my area and just to my north. Hicksville picked up about an inch and places just to there north and just to my south are still at close to 0 with rainfall from this event. I got lucky and was just on the southern fringe of that little heavy rain band.

LongBeachSurfFreak
I was straight up angry when I woke up for work at 430 and looked outside to see dry ground. Luckily thats changing currently. The batch moving in from the SW looks tasty. I don’t think I have ever been soGlued to the radar for a rain event. This is do or die for allot Long Island plants and trees .
T5403CG
Latest hrrr 6+" for the dry spots on LILatest model shows .75" - 2" for most on the island...Light rain is almost here in SW Suffolk... hope we get at least an inch...The totals that will come out ot South Central to South East CT look to be flood worthy when all is said and done... heavy rains have just been training over that area all night....Sent from my moto g power (2021) using Tapatalk

T5403CG
Latest Low is projected to head SE, not E... that will impact central and eastern sections on Long Island with less qpf theoretically... Unless there is some convection heading out ahead of the low...The forks into SE NE are really gonna struggle with this low's path...The city into Nassau are a lock for 1"+ IMHO... will get interesting the further ENE you go....Sent from my moto g power (2021) using Tapatalk
