Practicing for winter.

Yeah, the GEM had the late January snowstorm from a week out while the other models were OTS. The GFS seldom verifies when it’s the only amped up global model. We need one of the better models showing an amped up solution for it to work out. The 12z UKMET was east also. We’ll see if the GEM or Euro can come west in later runs. We probably have until the 0z or 12z runs tomorrow for a shift back west if it’s going to happen.

Classic Euro lost and found system? Had this more amped up solution on Wednesday before losing it. Now it’s back to the closer to the coast track.

This is just like tracking a winter storm. Like you mentioned earlier we will probably have to wait a bit longer to see how the models trend. Curious to see what the EPS/ensembles show.

Euro trended slightly to the GFS. It does not have the loop de loop over new england, but the trough sharpens up in time so the LP does go over cape cod.  Still too far south and off shore to do anything but fringe the NY metro for anything more than an inch.  Rain looks somewhat likely wednesday afternoon and evening.  NE sees some decent rain easr of CT valley and up through NH then o

Looks like Islip is down to 59°. This is the first 50s there since late June. So the streak of 60° of warmer minimums made it to 50 days which is the 8 longest.
