Wow...you mean we're going to see temps around 100? Never would have imagined!

Joking aside, sitting at Divisionals for six our so hours this Saturday might kind of suck. At least I don't really have to *do* anything except cheer for the kids. And eat.

@H2O...you timing this weeknd?

Yup.  First half chief timer for our divisional.  got asked last night.  Only got one kid in it and she will be done after fly which is the second event this year.  Wooo.  Staying for the whole meet will be gross if no shade.  And we have our awards banquet in the evening.  Pain.  But then its done which is always a relief but bittersweet.

Morning AFD update from LWX

Quote
.LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH TUESDAY/...
H5 HEIGHTS WILL CONTINUE TO RISE SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY WITH WESTERLY
FLOW DEVELOPING AS A LARGE RIDGE BUILDS FROM THE CENTRAL PLAINS INTO
THE SE US. CONVECTION SHOULD LARGELY REMAIN SUPPRESSED, WITH THE
EXCEPTION BEING PERHAPS A STORM IN A TERRAIN CIRCULATION. H5 HEIGHTS
PEAK BETWEEN 591-594 MB SUNDAY, WITH 850 MB, 925 MB, AND SFC TEMPS
MAXING OUT SUNDAY AS WELL. SLIGHT CHANCE POPS SUNDAY NORTH OF I-68/I-
70 AS SOME GUIDANCE SUGGESTS A THUNDERSTORM COMPLEX MOVES ACROSS
PENNSYLVANIA, THOUGH LOW CONFIDENCE AT THIS TIME. HEIGHTS LOWER
SLIGHTLY INTO MONDAY AS A SHORTWAVE AND ASSOCIATED SFC COLD FRONT
MOVE THROUGH, HENCE POPS INCREASE AS A WEAK SHORTWAVE MOVES THROUGH
IN THE EMBEDDED WEST/NORTHWEST FLOW. THE FRONT WILL STALL IN THE MID-
ATLANTIC INTO MIDWEEK WITH NOTABLY COOLER CONDITIONS, WITH NEAR OR
ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPS STILL EXPECTED. DIURNALLY DRIVEN
SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED INTO THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

THE FOCUS THROUGH MUCH OF THE LONG TERM WILL BE THE INCREASING HEAT.
WIDESPREAD LOW TO MID 90S ARE LIKELY SATURDAY, WITH MID TO UPPER
90S, PERHAPS 100 POSSIBLE ACROSS THE METROS ON SUNDAY. HEAT
HEADLINES APPEAR POSSIBLE SATURDAY, WITH EVEN HIGHER PROBS ON
SUNDAY. 850 MB TEMPS IN THE LOW TO MID 20S (C) COULD RESULT IN THE
WARMEST TEMPERATURE SINCE 2016 FOR SOME LOCALES. NOT MUCH RELIEF IS
EXPECTED SATURDAY OR SUNDAY NIGHT WITH LOWS NEAR 80 EAST OF
I-95.

I think that paving has made a difference, but it’s a fairly small impact and it’s still damn hot.

It has pretty clearly made a difference in both temps and snowfall reports. Of course, BWI has always had issues reporting snowfall, but not to the degree of DCA.

Tommy T yesterday mentioned in during the evening news, how Fort Meade was 5 degrees cooler than BWI despite being pretty close to each other.

I would say I picked a good week to have my bike in the shop, but no rain means the trails will probably be in primo shape...meh.  (rain is a good thing, though)

I just finished a 25 mile road ride. The heat kicked my butt. I’ve got an ice pack on the back of my neck now trying to cool down. :sizzle:

90/66 currently -- going to be a hot softball game tonight

I also have volunteered to walk in a parade on Saturday with my kid's dance studio, so that should be fun.

Last softball tournament of the year this weekend in Hagerstown.  Going to suck.

Tommy always has an agenda when he points out these little comparisons though. High at BWI yesterday was 92 and 90 at my house. Meade often runs  noticeably cooler for whatever reason.
