Back up there next Thursday for a long weekend. Can’t wait to get back. Are you there all week?

Yeah, we were doing a Saturday to Saturday rental this week. Aside from the storms on Tuesday afternoon the weather has been fabulous.

During the most recent hour, Washington, DC's Reagan National Airport picked up 1.09" of rain. That was the fourth such hourly amount this year.  Both 2020 and 2021 had three hours with rainfall amounts of 1.00" or more. The last time there were four such hourly amounts was in 1970. The record of six hourly amounts was set in 1952.

Earlier today, New York City also picked up hourly rainfall of 1.00" or more. The last time both cities saw such rainfall amounts on the same date was July 17, 2018.

Hourly data goes back to 1948.

Rain was pretty intense in the Annapolis area. Really poured for a while in the late afternoon with low visibilities while driving. Then it rained again a 700ish but not as hard.

Pretty wild precip differences in Anne Arundel in the past 24 hours. 0.05 in Northern Anne Arundel while 4.79 radar estimated in Edgewater.

0.2" here. Everything fizzled as it moved east last evening. The earlier stuff missed to the northeast. Its the time of the summer where cold fronts tend to weaken/dissipate and we have nebulous localized boundaries around that help initiate convection.

Our Girls' softball team played a tournament at Bachman Park in Glen Burnie yesterday and had a delay of 2 hours for lightning and a brief shower.  Not much rain, but the lightning and thunder is what caused the delay.  Definitely could see how you had that much rain down on the southern half of the county.

The radar estimate for Edgewater sounds accurate. 2 of major roads going through there, 214 and Mayo rd were closed until late last night for high water
