Very misleading tweet since several locations from Somerset County to Newark have been hitting 100° regularly since July 20th. People should do their research before making statements like that. It’s not that hard to bring up all the other 100° readings at surrounding sites.

Has any other major climo site hit 100 this week? Somerset and Hillsborough aren’t exactly ewr in comparison

Nyc will need something extraordinary to hit 100 and LGA has gotten a seabreeze at some point each day.

You have several posters who've hit 100 too, including Forky.

For widespread 100 in NYC and east we really need a WNW downslope flow that can hold off the seabreeze. Our future is to be like Florida other than those rare days.

Teterboro has yet to hit 100

Which is what you would expect with the type of flow pattern that we have been getting. The areas from Somerset County to Newark have been the warmest. Just look at the highs from yesterday with multiple 100s in the corridor. There were at least 6 reported 100° readings yesterday.

Definitely a bit more tolerable today with lower dew points

Yeah the dewpoints have been mid 50s to low 60s in our area during most of this 5 day extreme heat stretch. Obviously tremendous heat, but it hasn't felt that bad doing stuff outside thanks to the reasonable humidity levels.

I believe 2010 had the humidity which made it feel worst
