We’ve had many very humid days down in the city/island. Maybe in westchester it’s different (I doubt it)

96 now

Wednesday Friday and today dew points were in the upper fifties and low sixties except after the thunderstorms went through by that time the temperatures dropped into the seventies.  The only uncomfortable day was Thursday here.  A 95゚ heat index is not that impressive for the heart of summer but maybe for Long Island it is

It really hasn't been that hot here very tolerable.  You'd have to agree that we've had many days with very low dew points for July.  Obviously it's getting warmer.  The worst heat wave I remember Lasted about 3 weeks from late June to about July 10th.  90゚ temperatures with high dews and very few thunderstorms in that period.  I believe it happened in the nineties but I don't recall the year

Maybe you are just getting used to the warmer temperatures around White Plains. Plus it’s usually cooler than other parts of our area. White Plains is currently having one of its longest streaks with low temperatures remaining above 70°. The high of 97° a few days ago was the 5th warmest for July and highest since 2012. The hourly dewpoint of 78° a few days ago was the 5th highest for July. So while your temperatures are more tolerable than other parts of the region, they have been rising just like every other spot over the years.

I have  No agenda.  Why would you think that?  I love weather and I'm just stating the conditions here?  You say its Going to be one of the hottest And longest heat waves on record  And that's fine if you feel that way.  But not for me in my area I've seen worst in the past

It doesn’t matter what you feel, the facts and records prove you’re wrong.

Global warming is real No one can deny that. I think you would agree with me that dew point this summer so far have been much lower than the past several years Which makes the heat much more tolerable.  Not every 90゚ day is the same

On a mostly clear, hot, and relatively dry day with minimal haze, the satellite picks up well on the heat at the surface. Surface temperatures are averaging over 110°F in some spots. 91 here on the south shore with a sea breeze.

Please just go check the White Plains Data since Wednesday.  I live 4 1/2 miles South of there   And I've had more rain than there since Wednesday.

The thing that gets me is that we're solidly AN against the highest normals we've ever had

June was cooler than the last few years. But July is warmer than last year and that’s not even what I’m referring to…

when is the last time newark hit 100 4 days in a row? You’re just wrong man.

We're solidly above normal this month  But the low dew points thus far has made it more tolerable.  The last several July's felt a lot worse even if we weren't as warm as this year

June was certainly cooler for many parts of the area than last year. But July is proving to be one of the warmest in several spots. White Plains is currently at the 7th warmest July and climbing. But the consolation prize for your area is it’s still cooler than many other parts of the area on an absolute basis. But relative to the means, it’s still warm by White Plains historical standards for July.

I think everyone reacts differently to the heat and humidity. For some a tropical type climate is comfortable and others prefer the desert.

Yes I agree.  I love 95゚ degrees with a dew point of 60. 82/75 is uncomfortable.  The big story of this summer Is now the high temps with this current heat wave but also the low dews through July 22nd
