Here's one for the climo stat geeks: Any summer high temp records left at any of the major Midwest/Great Lakes stations that don't belong to 1988, 1995 or 2012?

1934 and 1936 say hi. Along with 1955, 1976, 1953, and an assortment of other one off years. So yes there are plenty of non 1988,1995, and 2012 records.

Unless MKE can work some magic, it will get 99'ed again this week.  It hit 99 last week as well.  I forecasted 101 today...was hoping we could mix just a bit better.

96.3 on the home weather station so far today.  Last week I had 96.7.  Palms and other tropicals are loving it.

Up to 98 degrees in Toledo, Ohio. Could be the first 100 there since July 7, 2012. If it does reach 100F, it would tie the daily record from 1988. It would also tie June 21, 1988 as the earliest 100F+ reading on record in Toledo.

As of the 5 pm climate report, it appears to have stalled out at 99F. Interestingly, there was a 38F diurnal range (99F/61F). There was also a 38F diurnal range on June 21, 1988, when it hit 100F. Unusual to see a below normal low temperature on a day when the high is approaching 100 degrees.

.

Not everyday you have Milwaukee so much warmer than Madison during the summer. Especially with heat like this. Even with UHI, General Mitchell normally has at least some lake influence even if the bulk of the metro doesn't. Madison only topped out at 93 today so far, although that's probably not going to change, a much more pedestrian number.
