Dammit.  Am even picking up convection all around (and had a clap of thunder a couple minutes ago) and the cell is literally like a couple miles to my NW.  Sun is trying to break out to the west and south and still haven't tipped the bucket.  Temp is "down to" 82 but dp is still 77.

Snakebit for sure I know it's frustrating

Got 1.98" total for the weekend/this morning, so no complaints there, we certainly needed it. All these storms this afternoon/evening have completely missed us though. I think I'll actually have to mow this week at some point, though that's not an endeavor I'm particularly looking forward to.

Had a safety meeting at work this morning at 9:30am out at the site I work at. We all just stood there, dripping sweat. The rest of this week's gonna be brutal, but at least I've "graduated" from having to routinely don the Tyvek in this weather.... maybe. You'll be sure to see me kvetching about it here if that comes to be.

How many days to fall there again, @Birds~69?

Literally zippo so far today and I won't even bother hoping for that latest batch on the radar.  The sun came out bright and strong before sunset.  Have a whopping total of 0.47" for the month of July so far and that was from scattered sprinkles each totaling less than 1/4".

Currently mostly cloudy again, with a few breaks that I can see, and 79 with dp 74.

66....next milestone is under 50 then under 30 (less than a month) then the 10...9...8...7 etc. countdown.

I could easily lose 5-10lbs+ this week (water weight) w/o even trying.

We picked up another 0.34" of rain yesterday here in Chester County. We have recorded rain during 9 of the 18 days this month...but are still averaging about 75% of our normal rain through yesterday. Unfortunately, dry weather looks likely and indeed very hot. In fact if the current NWS forecast is correct... much of the relatively higher spots in the county could experience their 1st "heat wave" (3 consecutive days over 90 degrees) since July 19-21, 2020. Of note we have only experienced a total of 5 "heat waves" in the last 13 years dating back to 2010!!image.png.cc54bdca5d870e8a17aa6a81956e4a92.png

Ended up hitting 92 as a high (#7 for July and #12 total since May) after a low of 73.  It was progged that the cold front would help to mix out those awful dps from yesterday and for the most part it did - by about 10 degrees.

It's currently mostly sunny and 89 with dp 67 and the heatwave has been engaged for the rest of the week!  There was a climo section added in the AFD that suggested a record high min for Thursday this week -

Most folks across Chester County today over 500 ft ASL failed to escape the mid to upper 80's.. We did make it to 85.6 in East Nantmeal. The NWS has us again not reaching 90 tomorrow....but then 4 straight days they forecast reaching that elusive 90 degree mark! Of note the PHL Airport recorded their 10th day at 90 or above over the 1st 19 days of the month. KMQS Airport (Coatesville) and KPTW (Pottstown) have both failed to yet reach 90 so far here in July

PWS says we hit 93°F today. That's about 1.5°F higher than several nearby personal weather stations reported for the day. I think I might invest in a separate thermometer located somewhere else on my property in order to validate the one on my PWS. FWIW, Lebanon and Allentown official weather stations recorded a high of 90.

Regardless.... hot. tooooo hot.

If your PWS has the capability, you could get a NIST-certified thermometer positioned at the location and then verify (and confirm if it's a siting thing) and if needed, calibrate the PWS to match.

So far my "low" has been 74 this morning but has crept up to 76.  Will see if that trend continues since it's still about 30 minutes from sunrise.

The NWS has us reaching the 90 degree mark for the first time in more than 1 year today here in some of the higher spots of Chester County. The last such day here in East Nantmeal was June 30, 2021 when we hit 91.2.
Our record high for today is 99 degrees set back in 1930. The record low is the 48 degrees back in 1966. Our daily rainfall record is 4.78" set in 1979. Stay cool!
