mahantango#1 Posted July 29, 2022 Share Posted July 29, 2022 I just want to post this from the Dalmatia fire co. on this tragic accident yesterday morning: Lower Mahanoy Fire Company - Station 62 · This morning at approximately 2:25 am crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident in the area of 2890 State Route 147 in Lower Mahanoy Twp. The sole occupant of the original accident was fatally struck approximately 1/4 mile north of the initial accident by responding fire apparatus. Crews remained on scene for approximately 6 hours while PSP Stonington, Pennsylvania State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, and the PSP Motor Carrier Enforcement conducted their investigation. Fire apparatus that responded to the emergency had dash cameras that were voluntarily turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police to assist in their investigation along with witness statements. We ask that you keep the victim and their family along with first responders in your thoughts while everyone deals with this tragic incident. No further details will be posted or released until the the state police conclude their investigation. We may never know the exact reason for the tragic chain of events that occurred this morning but we also ask that you respect the family and first responders and don't post false information or hear say unless its verified by a reliable source as there are alot of assumptions and posts circulating that are inaccurate. Once the investigation concludes more details will be released.
