Just chilly and blah A few of us were scheduled to do the Six Pillars Century bike ride in Cambridge today. Last year was dry but with 40 mph sustained winds. Thankfully, this year they offered a “defer to next year” option, so I’m sitting high and dry in front of a fire listening to the sump pump kick on every 15 seconds. Crappy weather but making the best of it with an afternoon Caps game and a garage of beer, pool, and darts.

IronTy
Yeah it's seriously mid May and I'm still running the wood stove. Benson don't care. Almost 2" rain so far. Wind is picking up.
nw baltimore wx
Over 2.5” and I’ve unplugged the sump pump. It’s been fighting a gallant battle but I think it’s trying to beat the water table. It’s unplugged and the water has settled about six inches from the top of the well so I’ll leave it unplugged and check it periodically until bedtime. Then I’ll plug it back it in! kgottwald
Imagine having to live in Juneau, Alaska, where this sort of weather is typical for May and can last all summer (July 2008 had an *average* high of 58, and at least a trace of rain fell every day but one. Monthly high was a torrid 73.)

IronTy
What a travesty. This weekend is a complete waste. At my age I figure I've got only 720 summer weekends left before I die. I can't afford to be wasting them like this.

PrinceFrederickWx
3-day total was 1.66" 47 and running the heater on Mother's Day. You know we'll go straight to 90's in two weeks. It's very difficult for this region to do sunny and 60's/70's with calm winds (unless it's in winter ).
