Mid 90s at the warm spots on the NYC micronet.

Fresh Kills
Temp: 95°F

Bensonhurst / Mapleton
Temp: 95°F

Lefferts / South Ozone Park
Temp: 96°F

Astoria
Temp: 95°F

Corona
Temp: 95°F

Tremont/Van Nest up to 98. I always  thought the area really bakes, dense but low rise so little shade. The Con Ed plant feels like a little piece of EWR, or LGA without the water.

97 here just over 1 mile away.

Wow, stations in southern Nassau now in the upper 90s. Looks like there’s a seabreeze that punched through the barrier islands, they’re down to upper 80s and winds turned S.

Just came back from Moses, temp was 75. At the house, 94. Probably a distance of 5 miles. Oh, failed to realize today is senior cut day, beaches are mobbed with maniacs

At 3 pm, the temperature at Westhampton was a record 93° with a west wind. 45 miles to the east at Montauk, the temperature had tumbled from 87°  to 72° with the wind shifting from west to east. The backdoor cold front will continue to progress south and westward during the remainder of the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Newark had reached 97°. That breaks the record of 96°, which was set in 1987.

BDCF just about to push through Sag Harbor and Southold. Easily visible on the OKX radar. Interesting shape too - sort of a backward "S" shape as it curves north-westward over the Sound into CT and then north-eastward from the CT coast to the interior and then curves northwestward again.

That’s cool. You can also see the sea breeze front pushing north

Interesting look to that radar with the BDCF moving west through the twin forks and the SB front roughly along Sunrise and the Southern State.  Note the inverted Z appearance with the BDCF making faster progress along the Southern CT shoreline and it being held back some as it tries to move into interior SE CT.  A lot of interesting mesoscale stuff going on in the local area today.
