Not sure your thinking in SE NY where you think the action will be. You have some viewing area the Mohonk and Storm king mountain areas.

This is obviously not an ideal setup but it's something. Was thinking maybe Brewster. Tomorrow could be fun in central New England too!

The Brewster and Wingdale areas have some open elevated areas where you can see some activity crossing the Hudson River.  Agree tomorrow could also be fun up in central NE. Safe travels

Why is accuweather throwing around the term "Heavy thunderstorm" for tomorrow, rather than using "severe?"  Is "heavy" meant to refer more to the amount of rainfall, or is there going to be a high amount of electrical activity but not much CAPE?

I’d hardly call this a drought currently. Ground water levels are pretty stable.

The woodland pool in your backyard might be dry, but that’s about it.

Well BN in this part of Maine though the North is AN.  Local river (The Sandy) is at 403 cfs, median for the date is 913, 25th percentile 525.  However, the record low, 246 cfs, is still a pretty far away.
