weatherbo
It was a beautiful 58 today. Snow is melting pretty quick. It'll be mostly gone this weekend, finally.

Torchageddon
Its weird but wonderful waking up to clear blue skies morning after morning, I'm not getting those mid-day slumps anymore and I'm more on the ball. I do have a thin layer of cirrus from the low in the mid-west. Hoping to get over 20C today as the forecast under-estimates during these diurnal swing periods. Likely had the largest swing of the season; -1C overnight. 1
frostfern
Widely scattered lighting strikes with surface dewpoints in the low 30s. Weird pattern. Thankfully temperatures are hanging in the 50s so RH isn't very low. The spring greenup isn't far enough along to prevent torching.
Brian D
Windy, rainy day today. And it looks like Illinois is under the gun this afternoon with a tornado watch.
hawkeye_wx
This system had been a bit of a nothingburger for my area, but a solid line of heavy rain moved through this afternoon and boosted my rain total to 0.64". My April precip total will finish at 4.44", the second consecutive 4+" month.
cyclone77
Lame system for this area as expected. Picked up 0.06 last night, zero today. Made it to 75 today which was nice.

The best Cedar Rapids was able to do during this warm-up is 65º, which is exactly average today. The next chance to see 70º is another week away. frostfern
Its nice to hear a good loud crack of thunder finally. First of this year here. I had only heard a few very soft distant rumbles before.
frostfern
The dewpoint gradient out ahead of the warm front is pretty insane here in SW Lower MI. There is a jump from mid 20s in the northeast to 60 in the far southwest corner.

bowtie`
Seems like the first legit spring storms day here. Between 5 and 6 had one cell drop 0.15". Between 8 and 9 had another cell drop another 0.15". Just now between 10 and 11 had the serious line rolled through with some nice thump'in and bump'in, and another 0.65" through the tippy bucket. So up to 0.95" now and I doubt going to get much more of anything. Looks like the dry-line has lost most of its kinetics. Ooops, typed too soon. It is raining hard again. Still should not last too long.
bowtie`
I should not have typed so soon last night. Ended up with another quarter. Rain total will be 1.29" of rain.
