Worst start to met spring I can recall. Seriously awful weather. And more f*cking rain in the forecast for the next 7 days. Hope we go full on drought this summer! default_devilsmiley.gif Though I know better because all it does is rain here. default_sad4.gif

There have definitely been worse starts to spring.

You can add April 13-16 2018 - Minneapolis and central Minnesota 15-20” of snow, capping off the snowiest April on record with over 26” of snow.

Fun surprise last night. A little mesoscale band of snow hugged the Ann Arbor to DTW corridor and the massive silver dollar snowflakes just poured from the sky.  Outside of the band a negligible light mix of rain and snow fell, but inside the band a solid 1 to 2" fell although I suspect just south of me may have been the jackpot with closer to 3".  Classic Spring snow.

I received 2.0" which puts me at 45.2" on the season. DTW received 1.8" which puts them at 44.8" on the season.

It was a wintry but invigorating run through the snowscape in the cold and fog this morning.

The snow cover melted off quickly once the fog burned off late morning. The grass seemed greener with the new moisture and sun.

A few piles where we shoveled the walk yesterday remained this evening. The rain should take of them overnight.

Snow/rain showers this afternoon, I was in the yard cleaning things up and was surprised to find ice and frost beneath areas that had thick leaf cover over the winter.

Looks like a coating to an inch overnight that’ll burn off rather quickly tomorrow. Pretty typical early April weather.

I had some stakes in the ground that I used for Christmas decorations that were frozen in the ground all Winter long and when I tried to get them out about a week ago it was still too hard lol. I'm sure I'll be able to get them out this week but still haha.
