kdxken
The next plague. They're all over the place... ‘Jumping worms’ are spreading around New England. And that has ecologists worried. Amynthas worms, which are native to East Asia and are often called “snake worms” or “jumping worms,” can have a devastating impact on forest ecosystems. They can be found all over New England, but concerns about their spread have increased in recent years.

Also the ring around the neck is smooth not grooved like on a night crawling. I'm sure they're in your garden. https://www.fs.usda.gov/features/invasive-jumping-worms-can-change-their-world

#NoPoles
3-4 inches on the ground now in Bretton Woods. Some of the heaviest snowfall rates of the season, and also the highest water content. If this were January, we would have over a foot already...

The collar, or ring is closer to the Head than a nightcrawler. I wouldn't say they jump but they definitely move faster than a nightcrawler. Dig up a piece of your garden they're probably there. powderfreak
As I wrote in NNE, had dinner at the classic ski bar/restaurant "The Matterhorn" near the bottom of Harlow Hill up to the ski resort. Had to take 3-5 minute weenie drive up there on the way home. Last light just before 8pm. Photo has been edited for brightening and looks noisy due to the low light. We took a walk on the Barnes Camp boardwalk and enjoyed winter weather. 29F, windy, and snowing sideways. Small flakes, needles and bullets. Dense QPF-rich stuff. About 2" of wet frozen sand, but drifting around from very strong winds. Never know when it'll be the last snow.
