Upstate/Eastern New York-Springtime?

Updated April 22nd, cool start into 1st week of May. Artic high pressure will help dislodge polar air southward.

Not a good trend for anyone who want a long lasting warmth. The warm air is sitting at north pole.

Cool May means busy hurricane season. High chance east coast will get hit by major hurricane.

Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. Was at work all day. To answer your question the EAR and BSR having a run with La Niña. The first two are like the Gulf Stream from East Asia and Bering Sea, always there; then down the West coast to bump into La or El Niña, where I've been hearing La doesn't want to move to it's Summer residence more towards the central Pacific.

This is a little old but is the tail end of last Winter. "In a normal year" the majority of the blue along the South American coast would migrate west and end up between Hawaii and Indonesia, but it's slow to do that this year.
