Don’t post much outside the RVA/Central Va thread but I’ll be at Wintergreen at 3600 feet for this one. Thinking that might be a pretty great location all things considered. Will let y’all know how it shakes out up there

Probably going to wait for the rest of the 12z suite

Maybe waiting for the ole' 3:30 pm update. Like back in the 90s when you run off the school bus and flip on TWC to see the crawl and the Local on the 8s update praying for a "Winter Storm Warning in effect" text to appear.

Then watching the evening news with the school closings crawl, hoping yours would be listed!

Growing up in Philly pre-Internet school admins would have a number assigned to their school and then call into a local AM radio station. The radio station would read off the numbers it was like waiting for your lottery numbers:

Dude, STFU.   Please don't start this shit.  Everybody is having a good time, knowing we will be limited and lucky to get even what we get.  you are literally the ONLY person where being a petulant child.  If I got 1 to 3, I'd be ecstatic.   Just stop, seriously.  Even 3 days ago, this didn't look like a decent event for most of us and you out here crying about bonus snow in March with real cold air and high winds in a dynamic system.   You really need to stop.

what are you talking about? The NWS posted 3-5 inches last night on their snow maps....and then the models got even better overnight---then i wake up and see they reduced it to 2-3 inches despite the models getting better. This was just about the NWS maps lol.....

PSU just said it was a night shift/day shift opinion thing so he cleared it up

We might be underrated the wind event here guys.

My boss and I (granted, neither of us are "forecasters" anymore) have been going back and forth as to where the wind WWA's are? seems like a ridiculous gradient and 50+ gusts are almost a slam dunk.  Doesn't look to have a rocket of a LLJ for the real high stuff but would expect advisories out <24hrs out.

They mention wind gusts 45-55mph in the advisories so idk?
