TellicoWx
Looking at NWS Memphis weather graphic..think safe to say they missed it. Shows 1"-2"...2" reports starting to come in already, with more to fall.

Wurbus
KNX Plumes came down some at 21z. 5.5 average and most are clustered betweed 3.5-5. With 3 big dogs over 10" and only 2 below 3". Chatt was down slightly as well, but most clustered between 3-5" as well.

Would love to see what the plumes were for Arkansas and Memphis. I bet the storm is outperforming them. With the convective nature, not surprised...will bounce around with the uncertainty of where/if they form.
TellicoWx
Looking at the final runs that preceded the start in Little Rock and Memphis..so far GFS has probably been the closest for both. NAM did better for Memphis..Euro has been under for both.

jrips27
Oh man. Lot of momentum on that Chattanooga to Athens corridor recently. Might post up there tonight. Saves an hour on the drive up as well!
John1122
Little Rock went from 52 and cloudy to 34 and snow in a couple hours. Temps fell from there. The snow started in the afternoon during the warmest sun of the day and it almost immediately started sticking. It even stuck to paved surfaces. Hopefully this will slow down the whole "snow won't stick" narrative that the local TV Mets went on about earlier this week. I will credit Todd Howell who apparently honked early that rates overcome.
dwagner88
I don’t know how to feel about all of this. It has been a LONG time since there was this much positivity from the models about a snow event. Maybe Jan 2011 was the last one? All the other big ones were close calls.

Is there some kind of valley enhancement going on? I kind of jokingly asked about it earlier, but this run it seems super prominent. Notice how the snow is not elevation dependent here. EDIT: you can really see it on the 3k NAM.

Basically merging of the dynamics right over the valley as the energy near the gulf lifts up to our south 1
