bearman
Heavest snow of the night We now have around 6 inches in the grass. Have not measured it could be conservative or off the other way. We have ended up with more that I thought we were just a few hours ago. The back end of the storm has really took off.

That’s about what I have. I’m going to measure it around 7:00ish when this is fully moved out. It’s still ripping here.
Kasper
Looks as if the entire valley has a large band about to swing off the plateau!
John1122
Don't know if there's a break and that back band is coming or if it's getting cold and the DGZ is dropping to the point the radar beams are too high to see snow over the western Plateau. Either way, based on past bands tonight coming from there and looking like that, its 1.5 to 2 inch per hour rates in the darker blue that distance from radar.
Wurbus
Going to get a little sleep. I measured right at 7 inches near Karns and it is still coming down. Overall, very impressive system! Most snow I can remember having in a long while.
John1122
Wild to watch that back band on the radar. In an hour or so it grew rapidly from near the Kentucky border to stretch all the way down to Northern Alabama now. Should get the whole eastern valley as it moves east over the next hour or so.
Jed33
It’s been a real struggle to surpass 2.5in here. I’m not sure what has caused the slow accumulation, but the returns just kept getting eaten up. Either dry air or downsloping or maybe both. Maybe the last part of this storm will be more kind to us in Hamblen and western Greene. Edit: Snow has picked up again here now moderate to heavy so we’ll see what happens now. The temp is 26 so that will definitely help with the ratio

John1122
Snowing still but for the first time in around 7 hours, its light snow. Still waiting on the final band before I sleep a couple hours. 13
McMinnWx
@Kasper Got five inches exactly over here. Maybe this band will drop a little more.
Wintersnow888
Wind has definitely been a factor all night, final band very gusty. It's knocked the snow out of a lot of the trees onto the ground .Glad to see more members get snow this time as well

John1122
Snow is picking back up pretty good under the band working over the Plateau now. Back to nickel and quarter sized flakes and 1/2 mile visibility.

John1122
Looks Iike a lot of the counties around Knox have 5-6 inches per reports I'm seeing. Very sold event for the entire 40 corridor from Memphis to Knoxville. Rare any time to get virtually the whole state.

bearman
Depending on where I mesure in the yard i have between 6 and 7 inches. If we had had cold ground we would maybe had a another inch.
Silas Lang
Probably on average around 6.5 inches. I did also measure some random spots of 7.5 to 8 inches out in the yard as well. Wind drifts? There are few seemingly random larger piles of snow out there along with some smaller ones, around 5 inches or so. Seems it got blown around some. Pretty awesome event! A nice little Jr. 93 here. Beautiful snow coming down right now. Maybe another inch? Edit: enjoy the dog nose.
