With water temps only in the low 40s you folks in Suffolk Cty especially north of the LIE could get a few inches out of this one if the dynamics work out.  I have 36 with light rain/drizzle out here.

I was just looking at a traffic cam where the Sagtikos meets the NSP and the grass is completely covered out there.

It has absolutely nothing to do with UHI for long beach.. Its called I have a big body of water just to my south w/ 0 elevation

Nah there just isn't a lot of cold air available. This is elevation dependent.

At least it started as a snow-like substance and now it's all flakes. At 34° I don't know if it stays white though unless it gets heavier and cools it down a little.

This is all about rates.  Elevation doesn’t hurt either.  Look at mPING to see the variation in precip type across the region.

Snowing in the bronx rn..nice fluffy wet flakes.  The eadar shows rain but its def snowing pretty gd up here now..also some heavier stuff is incoming.

Temp down two in the past hour, now at 34 with light snow falling.

Winds are changing direction so the easterly component is now northerly. Trying to bring in some cooler air which is prob why it's now snowing in parts of the city.

Its snowing here is SW Nassau. 34.7 degrees. was 36 an hour ago

Was rain for a while in Whitestone with a little snow mixed in. Now mostly snow (white rain).

Interesting that you guys in NW Suffolk are accumulating while it's all wet here. Usually we share a similar climate here in NE Queens in marginal situations like these.

Interesting to see the sky turn darker,it was a rain sky earlier and much brighter..now its def now a snow sky and a much darker grey. 34f with snow now falling here in the northern bx..
