rochesterdave
GFS is still a big storm. Just ticked east. Maybe leaves room for those final shifts west?

TugHillMatt
Just spent some time reading through the March '17 Snowstorm thread. Looks like that winter was to Buffalo what this winter was to Syracuse. I definitely don't think this is going to be as big or cold as that one, but it could be a very impressive system.

TugHillMatt
Why do the models so often minimize snowfall over Oneida lake? Is that programmed somehow in their systems? I see it over and over again. The Ukmet AND Ggem both show it:

That was before we did separate storm event threads, hard to keep track before we did that. That storm was insane Binghamton had 2 all timers within 3 years. I dont think I remember because I was away in Mexico for it.
BuffaloWeather
What did Buffalo get for that storm? On 3/15/2017 at 1:35 PM, lakeeffectkid383 said: Final tally here 27.1". About 20-21" of depth in the ground. Unreal storm. One I will remember forever. Can't remember it ever snowing so consistently for 48 hours straight. It never stopped from 12pm Monday until 1pm today. This brings me to 33" of snow here in the last week with more likely coming this weekend. Could we go for 40" in March?! I'm sure you were loving the heat in Mexico, but knowing your love for extreme weather, that might have been a tough one to miss! The models flip flopped all over the place for that one too. lol... Many times, posters gave up on getting anything good and it turned out to be a nice storm for many!

Pretty much the biggest most widespread event since I started posting here in 2010. Don't even remember it lol. 1
