Things calming down now. Still pretty gusty behind the front. I'm picking up gusts in the mid 20's mph range. I really wish my anemometer was mounted in a more favorable spot though--it's on top of my shed and kind of sheltered from different angles. One of these days I'd like to mount it high up on my roof peak, but that's going to require some serious preparations (and maybe a lift rental). Albedoman
wow, 73 + degrees today and the 0Z NAM is showing 4-6'' of snow for the LV on Wednesday. Wind gusts well over 45 mph. More freaking branches to pick up from the windiest last six months that I ever seen here. Not much rain however, less than .25 in. The predicted snow on Wednesday may help with some groundwater recharge for our area and keep the spring wildfires down as the ground is almost dry from tonight's northerly winds of 35 mph, even though it rained an hour ago. I also think a WWA may be issued for Wednesday. The snowfall rates appear to be pretty high and may actually accumulate on the road. 4 -6 inches of wet snow on the grass and 1-2 inches of white rain on the road appears to be reasonable expectation if the NAM/RGEM model is spot on. The Iceman
Agree with Mt Holly's maps. There's just no way we are seeing 4-6" like the 10:1 maps spit out after temps being in the 70's and temps remaining above freezing during the event. I wouldn't rule out a slushy inch or two though if the rates on the NAM verify. Use the snow depth maps and not the 10:1 maps on model output, it's a much more realistic outcome for this storm.
Itstrainingtime
In 40+ years of driving, never have I experienced the effect of wind on a car like I did last night on the Girard Point Bridge leaving the 76ers game. The crosswinds were insane - despite the fact that there was little traffic on the bridge, I don't think anyone was going more than 45mph. Everyone was holding on to their steering wheels for dear life.

The Iceman
2 weeks ago this upcoming storm would have been a solid 4-6" region wide. Of course we finally get a great track and boundary level temps are scorching on top of the increased sun angle. Not expecting more than snow TV with maybe a slushy inch on the grass that is gone by the end of the day.

I'll tell ya a March 46F/sun compared to a Jan 46F/sun is night and day. I could easily go outside now w/just a flannel in the sun and be just fine. The rays are kickin. Wouldn't work that way Jan, would need a jacket.
