Kevin, we don’t average what we average. Period. The next set of climo years will show it. We’ve had a highly anomalous stretch.

We’ve had a tough stretch the past few years. Last 3 years in particular were horrendous in se areas, this is the first real winter we have had since 2018.

Nice isn't that what the Narcan had?

I believe it was pretty close. BTV had also mentioned great lift in the 600-700 zone indicating some pretty good ratios and rates. They called and were consistent with there predictions despite wobbly model runs. If you look at the PNS I posted earlier, my county of Washington had some nice totals early.  And it looks like we will do pretty well with finals too.

last dead ratter here was 10 years ago. mixed among several below normal winters were several above normal winters and 2014/15, which more than cancels out 11/12. it could be worse, even on immediate coast

11-12 was better there than where I was in Dorchester. 4.1” I think biggest amount. Not much better when I am now.

I have been at least like 15" below normal for 4 consecutive seasons.

Three out of four for me like that but this year will be extra special, below normal, unless there is some March Hail Mary.

i’m think I’m sitting at about 26” for the winter tonight.  Less than half of average.
Pretty fun storm today though. 7 to 8”  of new snow and it snowed for 14 hours.

It’s leaf blower snow after a “denser” 10:1 to begin with, ha.  J.Spin’s last 6 hour reading of 6.9” on 0.22” water for a 31:1 ratio was widespread this afternoon… sparkling fluff.

3.2”/0.09” in the core beginning at 330pm. So roughly 35:1.

I'm still pleasantly surprised every time I see they report representative measurements

It's tough when your official station, for a large metro area, is basically sitting in a coastal marsh.  The spot where it is warmest in the winter and often coolest in the summer.

BTV update. My area in Washington Couty is the jackpot on this list. I’m always glad when my measurements match up with the NWS employee at 1 SW East Barre.

I didn’t know Pete B lived in Nashua. That top one measured in a snow bank. The bottom 6.5” amounts are much closer to reality.
