The start of an excellent winter. I even remember when the forecast was initially for snow showers, before getting better and better as it got closer. Had 10" in NNJ, with pulses of heavier snow the evenings of 23rd and 24th, and flurries/S- between. Not all that many Christmas Eve/Day snow memories - 1961, 1966 (best one, with thunder), 1978 (Fort Kent) and 2017.

Fozz
I vaguely remember seeing that Foxboro received 2'+ from Dec 2003. I think one of the TWC mets was there. It would've been a good time for me to live where I am now.

UnitedWx
Nice pictures! That's the storm that started my interest in weather, especially winter weather. Someday I'll find the pictures my parents took...I think they're on slides lol. Between this and a storm about a week before it we had a tremendous amount of snow on the ground in Granby CT. I've always felt that the measurements of this storm aren't exactly correct. Speaking with relatives about it and seeing a pic of my grandfather with a yardstick nearing 30 inches leads me to believe that some areas received quite a bit more than official totals. No school the whole week. My mother was surprised they cancelled school for a few flurries, but it didn't take long for that to change
The 4 Seasons
Was bored so i made this text graphic for the past 7 seasons (14/15- present) basically since ive been in CT and active on here. 30 storms. The 4 Seasons
4 Year Anniversary of a great snowstorm. Jan 7th 2017. Probably one of my favorite half foot (more or less) storms of all time. Everything went perfect. Very cold temperatures, almost all daytime, verified perfectly and trended great on models during the final 24-72 hrs.

The 4 Seasons
What a mess on the highways cant imagine anything like that happening today. Even a NEMO couldn't do that. Hopefully well never have to experience anything like that again.
The 4 Seasons
2-year anniversay of this mess. Over a half an inch of ice caused a lot of power outages and just a disaster on the roads. A significant part of Hamden and North Haven lost power for days. What made this event particularly bad was the fact that temperatures plummeted into the teens and single digits after the icing and winds picked up.
