31F, dew 30F, rain here. Ice accreting on trees.

This is going to get ugly for someone if we don't flip to snow or sleet soon.

Yeah its not looking good. HRRR keeps slowly pushing things north and showing mainly freezing rain here now with atleast a few to several hours of sleet pushing all the way to Ithaca-Cortland-Hamilton.

I’m thinking the same here. TWC hourly shows rain/mix until 5am when it flips to snow at 25°.  That will make +/-11 hours of freezing rain starting at 32° and dropping to 25°.

I’m doing things right now to get ahead in case we lose power tonight….which could last a while.  Thermostat is being bumped up a few degrees to “bank heat” right meow.

I did a major tuneup on our generator last month.

I really don't want to be using it tonight.

I wonder how hard its snowing right on the edge north of toronto. 15F here now

Just got back from a walk. Snowing steadily, but flake size is small. I'm at the border between Toronto and Markham.  Glad we are at least getting something out of this second wave. Congrats to the western and central New York posters!

That’s what we call man snow. Loaded with moisture harder to melt

Just took a measurement. Caveat, not quite my official spot so it could be a touch low but not by a lot. Maybe have to breakout the slanted RGEM  ruler b4 thIs is done. ;)

I stocked up on 30 gallons of non-eth last month and added some stabilizer to it for extra shelf life. Ran the generator for few mins couple weekends ago. Locked and loaded for an outage. Next few nights might get below 0 too could spell disaster for alot of ppl that don't have backup power or wood heat available.
