I love drastic temperature drops, especially during summer thunderstorms.  My best memory of a drastic temperature drop is going in to a Caps game years ago in a  very warm rainstorm and walking out of the game looking for our car in several inches of snow.  The snow was not predicted as far as I know.  I think it was probably around ‘97 or ‘98.

November 11, 1995.  Big drop, rain changed to sleet then snow.  Also big winds when it moved through.  Some areas clocked 70mph gusts.  Derecho like!

Greatest I ever personally experienced was 1977 in swva. Temperature went from 50 to 8 in two hours.

You should look in the almanac at record temp swings. There’s one in Montana or South Dakota, can’t remember, that’s insane.

Yeah I've seen that -- something like 50s to -2 in a short period.  Denver once had a deal where an arctic airmass to the east had a "bathtub effect" where it was banking up and down against the Rockies, and Denver oscillated between near zero to 40s in minutes, several times in one day.
