Yeah could be I guess. I know ray is very careful with measuring.

Yeah I bet any conservative measuring might play into totals too.  I just think all these photos have like 10” ranges just looking at them that could be “believable” amounts.  Anything near a house looks jacked up a bit, but out in a field is likely scoured some.

I find at the mountain the official snow plots can be underwhelming in large windy snows.  Like it “seems like” 18 inches only to find 13” packed in.

It's been especially bad since he moved there. This area can do well, but it hasn't been a good run. The biggies in 2018, 2015, and 2013 were all great for ASH/Methuen. It's just been a real bad stretch, no denying it. I think just north of us got the real hose in this one. Coworker in Hooksett said he only got 5".

Yep. Bad run and over a 5 winter sample, pretty easy to happen.

So did anyone get the elusive 30"

Looks like a couple spots hit it.

And TauntonBlizz posted a pic of him snow blowing that was pretty good evidence of 30”+. Snow on the level was comfortably over his 26” auger housing.

It wasnt that hard to find consistency in my yard. And I came in very close to the other guy in town. Dont measure in a drift, dont measure next to a building. Driveways didnt hurt totals because it was so cold. I could see it being harder in an urban environment though.

My property is also surrounded by trees though, so that I'm sure helps a lot.

Trees do help a lot. I’ve noticed that where I live too. Snow seems much more evenly distributed with all the woods around me versus my old place which was not a ton of trees. The trees act as a wind break.

ratios in that band had to be pretty high 16:1/18:1.  It was piling up fast once the winds subsided a little around 1.

I never had the wind drop until late day. I bet if winds were lighter we all would have had 30-35 LOL. The bottom 6” of snow is packed in good.

You do the best you can with what you have, In these storms with a lot of wind is very problematic to measure as you are dealing with all you mentioned, And yes, Under measuring i think happen more then over unless your in lunnenburg then you just add 6" to whatever your total is.........
