weathermedic
From Twitter: Mike Rizzo @Meteor_Mike Ok, that's enough now. Please stop. Yes, the nor'easter 'spawned' another disturbance offshore that's reinforcing some of the snow. (It won't until 3PM - then blowing snow and bitter cold). @News12BX @News12BK

Where my car is parked, left hand side of the street, there is virtually no snow around it, and very little snow on it. The right hand side cars are buried deep. I can't even get an accurate snow depth measurement due to all the blowing and drifting snow. Go to be at least 10". That's probably a good guess. Yeah pretty much all the cars have had the snow blown off of them except for one side. Kinda reminds me of rime ice build up on arctic trees. I live in an apt complex in queens with a few buildings creating tunnels and between them all is a tennis and basketball court. The courts are completely clear and snow is stacked up against the wall surrounding it in parts about 3 feet high lol

Must be some downsloping off the highlands? 8" is pretty significant snow. Nothing like that around here. We never really got into the subsidence areas I'm just far enough east to avoid it and I saw them 10 miles to my west and north on radar. The last three hours were actually the best I observed has really tapered off now though. Probably will finish with not much added to the 8, I can't complain. It's really anemic here in Woodbridge. Visibility is good. Just went to Shop Rite. People are out shopping. Gotta be careful but not really a big deal here. Great for the snow plow contractors. Haven't seen a municipal plow yet today. The snowfall rates have picked up a bit here again. Low end moderate I'd say here right now. The back edge isn't too far away though. Maybe we pick up another half inch? Ending up between 7 and 8 looks reasonable but of course it varies a little from town to town. Some in Middlesex county will be closer to 6 while some get 7 to 8. lee59
Funny how Nassau never officially went under a blizzard warning this time. It is snowing a little steadier now but again not the kind of snow to add more than an inch or two. 8 would be an achievement.
