Powerful Multi-regional/ multi-faceted east coastal storm now above medium confidence: Jan 29 -30th, MA to NE, with snow and mix combining high wind, and tides. Unusual early confidence ...

I want all the snow. At least I am honest about it unlike some other NNE posters (cough... PF... cough) who pretend they are zen about it and would be super happy to see BOS get 3 feet while they have broken cirrus. :)

j/k PF we love ya. SpinJ on the other hand considers snow in BOS to be a scientific abomination.

Certainly not super happy about listening to folks from Boston talking about how much snow they just got while riding on the chairlifts, ha... just love the chase and what happens, happens.  Even my wife wishes I would get worked up about some things... not dramatic enough .

LOL been a long time since you and Will showed up in the MA forum with breakdowns on banding and rates. That was serious weenie porn and how you knew a good storm was on the way. It was actually a big deal haha

It was fun, granted we got porked, but I was forecasting for those terminals so I had some skin in the game.

It’s funny, having people from all over New England rooting for snow in their backyards, you can get a decent idea of how the models shifted by looking at who is getting excited. With the 1/16 storm I knew my area was cooked when the NNE and more west posters started getting on board. Then I took a look at the models, and yep, drenching rain right over my backyard.

It seemed like every storm that winter I was migrating down there by 4 days out when I saw the writing on the wall up here.

But it was fun tracking some of those. You even had kind of a pseudo-SWFE down there where I came in and kept saying “stop worrying that it will hit NC and S VA, this is easily going to trend north.” I think you all got like 8-10” of fluff out of it. It was like a week before the big dog.

New England moved south that winter.

Ah yes, the infamous "cold snow" storm.

Snow in the lower 20s is pretty rare down there. It was a major big deal.

Even though a crappy winter in Randolph still surpasses 2009-2010 with ease, something about that winter will always keep it in the top spot for me. Maybe a 250" winter here will unseat it, but probably not from a nostalgia sense. That winter was just so abnormal. Like a 400" winter here.
