Yep, it’s been drifting that way last few runs. East trend helps in this case.
PhineasC
Northern NNE can make lemonade out of lemons on something like this. 32 degree wet paste bomb is better than 34 degree rain.
Torch Tiger
Yeah, looked like the signal for an overrunning snow to ice deal for NNE. we'll see that if that holds. I doubt SNE avoids a decent (maybe muted) torch though
bch2014
GFS has a rain storm for most of New England on D8/D9 but then tees up a massive interior hit on D10/11. All with a grain of salt, of course.

I could see a mixed mess deal with snow bookending it.
Damage In Tolland
Hopefully Will or Scoots or a met can discuss how all of NE can avoid the torch next week
dendrite
Hopefully we get a nice break from the cold next week. Melt some snow and ice away.

PhineasC
EPS and GEFS don't look bad for NNE next week. More of an overrunning look, IMO.
ORH_wxman
GFS is a massive torch cutter....hopefully that mutes some. 12z GGEM looks more overrunning (can only see out to 144h though right now)

NW_of_GYX
GFS has had a train of systems for a few runs now, and other than that D7-8 period there is cold air nearby. That's what you want to see at this lead. Not buying 50's in the usual NNE CAD spots at this point.

But there doesn't seem to be any wholesale pattern changes advertised which is good news. Give us the moisture during peak climo and let's roll the dice. It's hard to go full on torch cutter in early Feb in NNE.
ORH_wxman
Euro tries to stretch it out before it eventually cuts, but that is a trend that if it continues, it will turn the cutter into a winter wx event at least for NNE...still possible for SNE too but lesser probability.

CoastalWx
EPS tries to mute it? We pray. Also, Those torchy weeklies from last week appear to be doing a reverse. February does not look warm right now.
