And the snow blips on the radar are just getting bigger and moving east / NE. But I agree, my excitement for this whole event is pretty minimal for my county. Still cool to see and nowcast.

Problem is there will be a screwzone on the NW side of the precip due to dry air intrusion. It will be somewhere in the western piedmont I believe. BornAgain13
Not sure if it matters now, but the 18z NAM is a massive expansion of the NW side of the snow.

I know how sparse winter weather is down there. One reason im really hoping for a big hit in the remaining winter. Might be the last one i see for a long while. burrel2
Seems like dry air from the wedge may have been a little under modeled. Each hi-res run coming in a little bit drier for the triangle. Still looks like a solid 2-4 inch event though.

With this rather light and short lived precip the DPs just wont climb fast enough across the triad area. Not saying we wont see any snow here, just not enough time for anything more than a dusting. Definitely losing some to virga.

yotaman
29/27 here in New Bern. Been below freezing since early this morning. Very worried about the icing predicted for us. NWS is saying from .45" to .55" likely with even higher amounts possible.
